Summer is a season that people love, as due to the intense heat of the season they usually enjoy beach days or maybe grill nights with their friends or family.

Fortunately, there are healthy alternatives, for example, snacks made with fruits or vegetables and homemade ice creams, among other ingredients that are delicious and do not affect your health.

"The WHO recommends that sugar intake be less than 10% of what a person should consume in a day. This applies to both children and adults. If we want to quantify in teaspoons, the range goes from five to nine teaspoons a day. Nowadays, it is about delaying the introduction of sugar as much as possible. The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests that it be after two years old, ideally after three years old. This allows the child's palate to be more accustomed to neutral flavors and to enjoy food without adding sugar," says Johanna León Cáceres, MSc in Nutrition and professor at the Norbert Wiener University.

Fruit skewers

Ingredients

  • Fruits cut into squares
  • Skewer stick


How to prepare?

Place the fruits of your choice on each skewer stick. This recipe is very easy to make at home and the best thing is that because of how simple it is, children can also prepare it.


Homemade fruit ice cream

Ingredients

  • Two cups of skim milk powder.
  • One cup of skim milk.
  • One cup of sugar (you can use 2/3 of sweetener).
  • One beaten egg.
  • ¼ teaspoon of vanilla or almond extract.
  • Two medium peaches or one cup of chopped peaches.

How to prepare?

Combine the milks, sugar, egg, and vanilla, and beat until a homogeneous mixture forms. Then, add the peaches and put everything in a container and then take it to the freezer and leave it for an hour.


Healthy Snickers

Ingredients

  • Chocolate coating
  • Nuts
  • Peanut butter


How to prepare?

Melt the chocolate coating and when it's liquid, place it in a snickers mold. Then, fill it with nuts and add peanut butter. Finally, put the dessert in the freezer for 30 minutes and enjoy.

It is important to note that although vacations are for relaxing and enjoying unforgettable moments, that doesn't mean that people will neglect their health.
