The former referee criticized the attitude of the Uruguayan coach for violently hitting the VAR booth, after the headed goal by Hernán Rengifo was validated, allowing the Tarmeños to equalize the match in the 99th minute.
Furthermore, Gambetta stated that the Disciplinary Committee of the FPF will have the final say and will make the decision to issue a sanction against the 'Madman', who has not yet commented on his action.
"That is not my responsibility, I must criticize the action of the coach, but the Disciplinary Committee has to evaluate and determine if there is a sanction. It is a reaction out of frustration; however, it is not justified in any way," he said in Ovación.

On the other hand, the Trujillo institution released a statement on their social media, criticizing Augusto Menéndez for "poor refereeing" and even calling for him to have his FIFA category "removed".
