Ormeño's debut with Juárez
On February 4th, Ormeño made his debut with Club Juárez, entering the field at the 78th minute while his team was winning 3-2 away against Mazatlán. Unfortunately, he had to be withdrawn in the last minutes due to intense knee pain. The pain was so strong that a video quickly went viral showing the player crying on the substitute bench.
After this unfortunate scene, the club released a medical report. "Futbol Club Juárez informs that its player Santiago Ormeño suffered a medial compartment injury (internal lateral ligament) and soft tissue inflammation in the popliteal space during the match against Mazatlán. Recovery depends on individual evolution."
Ormeño has not yet played under Reynoso's command
Juan Reynoso arrived in August 2022 to take charge of the Peruvian national team, and 'Santi' has not had the opportunity to play a match yet. When he was called up for friendly matches against Mexico and El Salvador, the player remained on the bench. Later, he was not called up for the matches against Paraguay and Bolivia as he did not receive authorization from his former team, Chivas de Guadalajara.
Is Ormeño currently playing for Juárez in Mexico?
No, after his injury he has not been able to accumulate minutes with his current club. Despite that, many fans of the Mexican team are encouraging the player to recover 100% and be able to step on a professional soccer field again.
