Ugas said he expects a very tough fight and that both will give their all in the ring.

"I am training hard, I feel ready for that fight that I know will be very competitive. It's a 12-round elimination, we both have an opportunity ahead and we will without a doubt give it our all in the ring."

The Cuban also revealed a little about the strategy he will use that night and that Robinson being left-handed is not a detail that worries him.

"It's not a problem for me, I have always fought well against both hands, Robinson will be no different." He has had few fights on television. Anyway, we have a plan, I am a pressure fighter, I always come out to throw punches and this time we will try to win round by round."

Ugas also said he expected to be a champion much earlier but due to several difficulties (including his loss to Amir Imam in 2014) he couldn't achieve it, and that's why he now feels stronger than before.

"When I arrived from Cuba, I did it with the intention of becoming a champion in two years, but things didn't go that way, I never thought I would go through so many ups and downs." But difficult things are the ones that strengthen us and I am happy that everything happened this way. It's true that I am a bit behind, I should have been a world champion long ago."

"For many, I was finished (after the loss to Imam), however, I came back and we have done everything we said we could do with good people by my side: be competitive, give good fights, and give it our all."

In his last fight, Ugas accepted a match against Thomas Dulorme with 10 days' notice, and the Cuban won that fight by unanimous decision.
