Ferrari erases controversial post on social media
The Ferrari team had to delete their latest post on social media ahead of the penultimate Formula 1 Grand Prix in Brazil, after receiving multiple criticisms from internet users.
According to Brazilian media outlets like O'Globo and UOL, the Italian team deleted the poster that featured an image created by graphic artist Michele Pasta, representing the upcoming arrival of the Cavallino Rampante at the Interlagos circuit.
In the promotional poster, the SF-23 with Charles Leclerc's number 16 can be seen rising above a tree located in a forest with a huge river in the background, which many identified as the Amazon. The image was accompanied by the following text: "Places of interest in São Paulo. Who is ready for the last Sprint of the year?"
Flood of Criticisms
"Brazil is not just a jungle"; "in the 18th century it was still like that, today only one building remains"; "I like how they see São Paulo, it was all forests and rivers... probably in the time of the dinosaurs", were some comments from internet users who mocked and ridiculed the image that they believe stereotyped Brazil.
In response to the large number of comments criticizing the poster, Ferrari ended up deleting the publication.
