Darren Till explains why he is no longer interested in challenging Mike Perry
Darren Till explained after his recent victory over Donald Cerrone that although he didn't challenge Mike Perry during his post-fight interview in the octagon, he was planning to. However, now that he knows he will be fighting Santiago Ponzinibbio, he has lost interest.
"I didn't challenge Mike Perry. But he said that Donald Cerrone was going to defeat me. I was going to challenge him, but now that he's going to fight Santiago Ponzinibbio, who I would also like to compete against, I'm not interested anymore. If he defeats him, he defeats him, which I don't believe he will, we can fight. But right now, I don't care. I would fight every weekend if I could. But I have to be smart. My manager told me he doesn't want me to fight anymore this year. But if UFC offers me a fight for December, I will tell my coaches to accept it. I have many potential opponents. I believe in myself completely."
In the following video, we see how Till's words didn't sit well with Perry, who didn't hesitate to approach the octagon to talk to his fellow fighter, shouting, "I'm a true welterweight, I'm a true welterweight."
