Perception on the Field

A few hours before the match between Universitario and Alianza Lima at the Monumental Stadium in Ate in the first final of the Peruvian tournament, sports journalist Elejalder Godos mentioned that neither of the two teams is favored to win.

Furthermore, Godos stated that based on the history between both clubs in this type of match, the Universitario team has been able to prevail on more occasions against the blanquiazules.

"The statistics say that in this type of matches referring to competing for a national title, Universitario has beaten Alianza more. In general, Alianza has won more classics against Universitario (...) In classics, there are no favorites, none is favored," he said on Préndete.

PERCEPTION ON THE FIELD

After becoming champion in the Clausura Tournament, Elejalder Godos expressed that the perception of both teams on the field is different. "Alianza is not playing well, Universitario is better."

Finally, Godos stated that the arrival of Jorge Fossati to the merengue team helped to work together as a squad and show a game plan on the field compared to Alianza Lima.
