Peruvian Volleyball Team on the Verge of Making History
The Peruvian Volleyball Team is on the verge of making history at the Junior Pan American Games Cali 2021. Led by Spanish coach Francisco Hervás, they defeated Colombia in the semifinals and are now going for the gold medal against Brazil, a team they faced in the group stage. For that reason, the 'matadorcitas' will seek their revenge.
One of the key players in the national team is Yadhira Anchante, as she is responsible for orchestrating the attack and occasionally placing the ball in empty areas to score points. The setter of the 'blanquirrojo' sextet has shown a high level throughout the tournament and hopes to repeat it in the grand final.
After the resounding victory against the Colombian team in the semifinals, Anchante revealed the key to their success. She also expressed her joy just hours before facing a tough match against the Brazilian team.
"I feel very excited, I feel that we worked as a team to come out on top. It was something we discussed, that we shouldn't break mentally and it's something we didn't do. I am very happy and excited for the match against Brazil," she declared to FPV.
It is important to mention that the Peruvian Team suffered a defeat against the 'Verde-Amarela' on the second day of the tournament.
