Club Universidad César Vallejo added 21 points by winning 1-0 against Ayacucho FC at Ciudad de Cumaná stadium, and climbed to second to last place in the Descentralizado standings.
Even though Ayacucho dominated the match, the 'poetas' broke the scoreline in the 46th minute of the first half thanks to a brilliant finish by forward Mauricio Montes.
In the second half, the home team sought the equalizer through crosses and long range shots but could not beat goalkeeper Salomón Libman, who made important saves. In the 82nd minute, Ayacucho FC goalkeeper Gerson Valladares was sent off.
