On Wednesday, January 11th, the Municipalidad de Miraflores announced that the Larcomar shopping center has been temporarily closed. The municipality's Civil Defense team stated that this establishment failed to comply with safety measures.

Additionally, it was reported that Cinépolis served customers despite deficiencies in its infrastructure. "The technical report indicates that it was closed for keeping it open to the public without authorization, as it is currently undergoing remodeling for its relaunch, a situation that poses a risk to people's safety," states the document.
According to the municipality, the room did not comply with the safety and protection measures issued by the National Institute of Civil Defense (Indeci). Additionally, there was a lack of proper functioning of corridors, emergency doors, stairs, emergency lights, and electrical installations.
Tourists and visitors who were present at the location were unable to walk around the premises due to this surprise closure. "We came here to take a stroll with the children, and everything is closed," said a mother during an interview with Canal N.
On the other hand, the Municipality of Miraflores has notified these findings to the owners of the shopping center so that they can rectify these observations as soon as possible, as otherwise, a permanent closure will be carried out.
