WWE Night of Champions was the last memory for Jeff Hardy [PHOTOS].

The brawlers, or heavyweights, always have the label of "main star" in WWE. Technicians are the favorites of analysts. But it is the high-flyers who steal the love of the people, like Jeff Hardy. On YouTube, you can see how the 'Poet in motion' last joyful memory was at the Night of Champions.

Hardy had a dream: to be a world champion in WWE. He achieved that goal three times. The last glory he obtained was during the Night of Champions 2009, as seen on YouTube, months before leaving the wrestling company.

On that night, Hardy was the center of attention. His work combined with the story he told in the ring with each move gave him what the audience and he so much desired: to see him as champion and defeat CM Punk.

According to YouTube, both wrestlers developed a feud based on opportunism on the part of the one from Chicago. It was July, almost two months after he defeated Edge for the world championship in one of his best fights in WWE. Everything was in vain. The celebration lasted only a few minutes, as Punk appeared to cash in his Money in the Bank contract and 'steal' the title.

The rematch came. As seen on YouTube, Hardy capitalized on his victory by applying the "Twist of Fate" and then submitting Punk with a "Swanton Bomb": poetry in motion. This after leaving multiple images of how extreme Jeff became within WWE.

A month later, Hardy, no longer champion, lost to the new champion CM Punk in a Steel Cage Match with a special clause: the title of one against the career of the other was at stake. Hardy was fired, both within the storyline in the ring and outside of it. WWE and him did not reach an agreement on his renewal.

Since August 2009, Hardy has not stepped into a WWE ring again. However, if the rumors are true, his return would be soon. After Night of Champions 2015, various internet forums have been speculating about the colorful one's return to the McMahon company to add flavor to what is already "cooking" with the recent return of The Dudley Boyz.

FACT:
The entire feud with CM Punk throughout 2009, including their fight at Night of Champions, was considered by Wrestling Observer Newsletter as the 'Feud of the Year'.
