Uruguay vs Portugal: Children in Nuevo Berlín are ready to cheer with the official jersey
Today, the Uruguay national team clashes against Portugal to determine who qualifies for the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. As expected, all Uruguayans will be waiting for that match. However, this time, 300 children from a school in Nuevo Berlín will cheer for the Uruguayan team, all dressed in the official jersey thanks to the generous donation from a player of 'Maestro' Óscar Washington Tabárez's team.
It turns out that midfielder Giorgian De Arrascaeta gifted that amount of jerseys with his jersey number (10) to the children from a school in his hometown. Nuevo Berlín is located in the Río Negro department, in the west of the country.
"Happy that all the children from our school number 8 (Nuevo Berlín) can have their jersey to cheer for Uruguay," wrote the footballer on his Twitter account and shared a photo where all those kids can be seen wearing the glorious sky blue jersey.
Alicia Seredindkyej, a teacher at the school, assured the Telenoche newscast that the center and its staff maintain an "important bond" with the midfielder, who currently defends the Brazilian team Cruzeiro.
