The current sports manager of Peñarol welcomed the blanquiazul delegation that traveled to Uruguay to compete in the Latin American Down Futsal Cup.

They are going for the Latin American Cup! The Futsal Down team of Alianza Lima arrived in Montevideo and visited the Los Aromos Sports Complex, the training headquarters of Club Atlético Peñarol, where they were received by Pablo Bengochea, former coach of Alianza Lima and current sports manager of the Uruguayan club; the professional team of the popular 'mirasol' team was also present.

The Alianza Lima delegation, led by Leao Butrón, arrived at Los Aromos to see its facilities and share with Bengoechea, champion of Peruvian football in 2017 when he coached the victors. In that sense, Bengoechea congratulated the club and the boys, who qualified for the Latin American Inclusive Futsal Cup, which will be held in Salto, Uruguay starting from this Friday.

"I hope it's a beautiful championship and that you can enjoy it and that it goes well. It's a great joy to be able to receive them and to be able to meet Leao Butrón again. Go Alianza," said the former Alianza Lima coach. The victorian team also took advantage of their brief stay in Montevideo to previously visit the Campeón del Siglo Stadium, where Peñarol plays its home games in the Uruguayan tournament.

National Campaign

The Alianza Lima Futsal Down team traveled to Uruguay on Tuesday 31st of October, where they will play in the Latin American Inclusive Futsal Cup. The team led by Sebastián Mamani qualified for this tournament after being undefeated champions of the Clausura Tournament, after beating San Martín 4-1 in the final. Previously, the victorian team finished as runners-up in the Apertura.

In this tournament they will also face Peñarol, Montevideo City Torque and Plaza Colonia, teams with more experience considering that the Alianza Lima team has only been formed for a year. In this way, Alianza bet on inclusion through sports and the support of the club towards this new sports segment shows it.

Mamani and his players will debut on Friday, November 3rd, at 7:00 p.m., against local team Sportivo Rodó at the Ferrocarril Indoor Stadium. The objective is to advance and achieve the highest possible number of points in this international championship.
