The 2-0 defeat against Argentina exposed all the shortcomings of the Peruvian National Team, which has not been able to win in the current South American Qualifiers 2026. The 'Bicolor', in these first four matches, has a draw and three losses, totaling only one point and placing itself in the penultimate position (out of the World Cup qualifying zone). For this reason, there are many factors to work on in order to reverse this delicate situation. At least that's what André Carrillo stated, who analyzed the match against the 'Albiceleste'.
“There were small mistakes that they took advantage of in two chances. They were superior to us. We were not aggressive enough and that shows in the result. We have to keep working because there is still a lot of qualifiers left”, were the first words of 'La Culebra' to the media.
Regarding the Argentine National Team, André Carrillo stated that they were fair winners. However, he pointed out that the 'Bicolor' will have to be much more aggressive if they want to reverse this situation in the qualifiers. “I think they are high-level players, everyone knows that, many times they were superior to us. If we are not aggressive, we will suffer throughout the qualifiers”, he asserted.
Finally, the national attacker indicated that they will continue working and recalled that in the previous qualifying process they went through a similar moment. “We know that we started the qualifiers poorly, offensively we are being poor. We have to keep working, in the last qualifiers we started poorly and ended up fighting”, he concluded.
When will the Peruvian National Team play again?
After the match against Argentina, Peru will return to action against Bolivia, a match that is scheduled to be played on Thursday, November 16 in La Paz. It will start at 3:00 p.m. (Peruvian time, one hour later in Bolivia). The last time the 'Bicolor' visited the Bolivians, they suffered a 0-1 defeat in the previous qualifiers. Ramiro Vaca scored the only goal.
