The coach of the Peruvian National Team, Juan Reynoso, immediately resolved the absence of Andy Polo from his chosen squad and opted to call up Christopher Olivares for the friendly matches against South Korea and Japan.

In a statement, the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) announced that after the injury of the Universitario attacker, the Deportivo Municipal forward will be part of the national team in the FIFA dates scheduled for June 16 and 20.
"The 'Bicolor' informs the call-up of the Deportivo Municipal footballer, Christopher Olivares, for the friendlies against South Korea and Japan," the announcement document reads.
Another player who had to leave the list due to injury is Luis Advíncula, who was left with considerable pain in his knee after playing a standout match for Boca Juniors against Colo Colo in the 2023 Copa Libertadores.
When does Peru play?
The Peruvian national team will have two friendly matches in the month of June:
- South Korea vs Peru - Friday, June 16 (06:00 hours)
- Japan vs Peru - Tuesday, June 20 (04:55 hours).
