After 11 days of intense competition and activities, the Antofagasta Bodyboard Festival (ABF) experienced its final day on Sunday, May 28. The riders with their respective delegations began to say goodbye to the city to embark on their next sports challenges.
On the last day of competition, the champions of the Pro Junior Men and Dropknee categories were determined. This came after thrilling finals the day before in the Pro Women and Pro Men categories, with Japanese Sari Ohhara and South African Tristan Roberts crowned champions, respectively.
The audience once again arrived early at Llacolén Beach to secure privileged positions on the shore and cheer for their favorite riders. The first final of the day, in the Pro Junior category, saw 16-year-old Peruvian Micheel Yancee win his first title in the ABF, defeating Brazilian Roger Fusculin. The heat was one of the closest in the finals, as both riders took turns in first place. However, Yancee took more risks in the final minutes and with superb maneuvers on the waves, he was able to impress the judges.
