Hace unas horas, the photo of a Peruvian fan with Andrew Redmayne, goalkeeper of Australia, went viral. He asked him to sign his Peruvian jersey. This brought many divided opinions; on one hand, there are people who took the moment with humor, while others considered it inappropriate or even a mockery to Peru.

One of these last ones was the former footballer Sergio 'Checho' Ibarra, who attacked the fan and spoke about the Australian player. "The clown goalkeeper from Australia, the one who started doing (mimics Redmayne's movements), who saved the penalty in the playoffs and qualified Australia for the Qatar World Cup, signed a Peru jersey in a training session. I won't let this fan enter any Peru match," he started for Latina.

'Checho' considers Redmayne's publication excessive

Días antes de este suceso, the Australia player posted a photo on his social media. He is seen drinking a traditional Peruvian coffee. This was not taken well by Ibarra, who even accused him of mocking.

"The goalkeeper, whose name I don't want to remember because it makes my soul leave, took a photo on Instagram, where he was drinking a delicious Peruvian coffee, and this fan posted the photo 'goalkeeper Redmayne enjoying a delicious Peruvian coffee'. Peruvian coffee is one of the best there is, but what he did is mocking; don't tell me it's not," he added.

"Peruvian coffee is good, but he did it in double meaning, and what idea did this Peruvian fan have? Then they say that Peruvian fans are the best in the world. If this happened in Argentina, Brazil, they would burn this fan alive. He wanted to make a joke, but I don't know..." he continued.
