Gianluca Lapadula returned to the field after overcoming ankle surgery, which forced him to put a halt to his career for four months. The return of the Italian Peruvian forward marked Cagliari's qualification to the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia.

And Lapadula entered at 75', in the middle of a draw (1-1) against Udinese. At 120', he scored a decisive goal and with this result, Cagliari obtained their third victory of the season and will now face Milan in the round of 16 of the tournament.
At the end of the match 'El Bambino' was happy for his team's victory and took the opportunity to dedicate his goal to his family. Furthermore, he revealed that he worked hard during these months for his recovery.
"I dedicate this goal to my three daughters, Bianca, Virginia, and Sole. It was an intense summer, I worked a lot, I believed in it. I am happy for the team, for the fans. I want to thank my teammates, the coach, and the club," said Lapadula.

As it is known, Gianluca underwent surgery at the beginning of July for a nasal fracture and when he was about to start the preseason with Cagliari, an ankle injury was detected, which is why he had to undergo another surgery.
