A great step. A former player from Alianza Lima, Sporting, and the U. of Chile will be in charge of coaching the Peruvian team that was previously under Nolberto Solano's command.

On the last Tuesday, August 23, during the ceremony for the 100 years of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), President Agustín Lozano revealed some modifications in the Liga 1, Liga 2, Copa Perú, and other national soccer competitions. In addition, it was also possible to know who will be the coach of the under-23 national team.

In a press conference, the FPF's Director of National Teams, Juan Carlos Oblitas, explained that Juan Reynoso will not be in charge of the under-23 team, but it will be in the hands of another former player of the Peruvian national team.

“Juan will not coach that team, it will surely be Flavio Maestri; it is a measure that was taken by the Youth Technical Unit. Surely two members of the senior national team will travel to watch the under-23 matches,” said Oblitas.
