"They don't listen to us and I feel frustrated": five responses after Oblitas' conference, the urgent changes in Liga 1, and Reynoso's future [VIDEO].

Juan Carlos Oblitas' highly anticipated press conference yielded some conclusions about what was discussed with Reynoso and Lozano in the days following the defeat against Argentina and the ninth place in the Eliminatories. The path remains the same: to accumulate at least 4 points so that the Reynoso-selection relationship does not become unsustainable.

Of all the things that concern El Ciego, Director General of the National Team, messages between the lines after his press conference, these are the ones we believe are most important to explain. Or try to explain.

In the end, once again, the path is made by walking.

1. "Juan is very worried, like everyone. But I have never gotten involved in the technical part".

What is the truth about Juan Reynoso's continuity? Let's go step by step. In the beginning, the coaching staff of the national team has had meetings with Agustin Lozano and Juan Carlos Oblitas to hear their first conclusions, after playing 4 matches in the qualifiers. But also, about the most important thing today: "supporting" (Oblitas said) a management that has not started well in terms of results (one point out of twelve), but is similar in statistics to the process towards Qatar 2022. "The coach of the national team is Juan Reynoso, and we all who work around him have to be proactive, especially for this November date, as simple as that," he said. Reynoso will continue to work obsessively to find an ideal starting eleven, and the best possible game plan to not lose more points, and also, he will not lose any power for his requests - for example, that the main fields at Videna are exclusive for the adult team, to the point that the women's team cannot train there-. However, it is also true that at the end of November, before we all go on vacation, Reynoso, Oblitas and Lozano will meet to define the future of the team. Whatever happens. Win or lose. It is not very difficult to guess what can happen if Bolivia and Venezuela leave us at the bottom of the table.

2. "I don't want the empathy the national team had with the people to be lost".

It is, of course, the great national drama today. Not that Polo cannot cross the balls that he does execute at 'U', or that Zambrano gets injured, or that Paolo has elephant-like movements. The serious emotional problem, extensively touched upon by Oblitas in the press conference, is the apparent rupture of this team with its fans, not perhaps with the Sentimiento Blanquirrojo, La Franja or La Blanquirroja - who also threw stones at the Hilton in Lima and in the vicinity of the Peruvian concentration in Santiago -, but with the others, those who had reconciled with the team after Russia, those who had discovered with surprise the importance of their nationality/uniform/pajamas; those who left CR7 jerseys and put on Cueva's jerseys. It is curious - or sad - that it is precisely two men who suffered the aftermath of the 90s, a time when thousands of Peruvians declared themselves, with pride, NEVER FANS OF THE NATIONAL TEAM, to whom it happens again. Reynoso did not realize it, and the information that the DT has is that El Ciego has made it clear to him, with a couple of very didactic examples. The truth is, the route is unique: the people will connect if Peru wins in Bolivia and then in Venezuela. That's it.
