I didn't know who it was: ESPN commentator had a curious mistake while referring to Paolo Guerrero.

The 'Predator' was mistaken during the first half of the match between Avaí FC and his former team, Internacional, for the Brasileirao.

Paolo Guerrero is starting in the match between Avaí and Internacional for the Brasileirao. The all-time top scorer of the Peruvian national team has already accumulated many minutes in his new team and will seek to get in shape so that he can receive the call from Juan Reynoso and, perhaps, have one last chance to play in the qualifiers or the World Cup.

The 'Depredador' is well known in South America for the number of goals he has scored for his clubs, as well as for his impressive performances with the national team, especially during the qualifying process for the 2018 World Cup, where he was at the peak of his career and was vital in Peru's return to the World Cup.

However, this does not mean that he is known everywhere. During the first half of the Avaí vs. Internacional match, an ESPN commentator confused Paolo's last name: instead of calling him Guerrero, he referred to him as "Montero," who is a historic former Uruguayan player. "Paolo is also here, Paolo Montero, who Gareca needed so much; such an important player for the Peruvian national team, a leader on the field," he said.

Erick Osores on Guerrero in the national team

The sports journalist stated that the substitute striker for the Peruvian national team is currently playing for Avaí in Brazil. "(For me) the second striker for Peru is named Paolo Guerrero. And Paolo Guerrero will play for three more years. If his knee holds up, Guerrero will have a long career," he said during the "Erick y Gonzalo" program.
