Ricardo Gareca gave a press conference to close his period with the Peruvian National Team, where he was a coach for just over seven years.

The 'Tigre' dedicated many phrases to thank all the members of his time as coach of the 'Blanquirroja', however, the most anticipated question was whether he would return to take the DT position in the national team.
"They were almost eight spectacular years, very strong in emotions, and that's how we want to end. I do not know what the future holds for me, but the Peruvian National Team will always be something very much considered by us," he said.
However, Ricardo Gareca detailed that this requires an interest from the Peruvian Football Federation and their needs, which he does not know, he assured.
"I do not know the intention, at the moment, of how the FPF will be managed. I do not know the reality of the Federation. I do not know what the president (Agustín Lozano) thinks," declared the Argentine.
Finally, Ricardo Gareca added: "Today, the federation will be managed as they deem appropriate. I am not the one to say 'this is right, this is wrong'".
