This Thursday it was announced that Ricardo Gareca will not continue as the coach of the Peruvian National Team and the reactions were immediate. Among the hundreds of messages of gratitude to the 'Tigre' for his seven years in charge of the 'blanquirroja', Antonio García Pye, Manager of Selections at FPF, also dedicated a post to him.
Through his official Instagram account, García Pye posted a picture with Juan Carlos Oblitas and Ricardo Gareca from a few years ago and left the message: "Thank you, coach, for everything."
As it is known, Antonio García Pye cultivated a good friendship with the Argentine coach during his time with the Peruvian National Team and was also part of the historic delegation that qualified for the 2018 World Cup.
Ricardo Gareca did not renew with the Peruvian National Team:
The environment of Ricardo Gareca expressed their displeasure with the proposal from Agustín Lozano, who, with a group of FPF members, traveled to Buenos Aires to convince the 64-year-old Argentine coach to continue leading the national team in the third round of World Cup qualifiers.
Let's remember that Gareca traveled to Argentina last Thursday and in his farewell at Jorge Chávez airport, he stated that Peru was his "priority" in his future in sports, although he did not express a firm stance.
