Peru defeated New Zealand 1-0 in an international friendly at the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona, Spain. The Peruvian national team played again since the closing of the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers against Paraguay in March.
The pupils of Ricardo Gareca were superior throughout most of the match, but they were not quite accurate in front of goal. However, the score moved thanks to a high press from 'Bambino', which surprised the rival goalkeeper and scored easily.
It should be mentioned that Luis Advincula, Renato Tapia, Angelo Campos, and Edison Flores were not listed.
In this way, the Peruvian national team is ready to face the Qatar 2022 playoff against the winner of the matchup between Australia vs. United Arab Emirates.
