Two years ago today, the Peruvian National Team defeated New Zealand 2-0 and secured their ticket to a World Cup after 36 years. In this way, every November 15, Peruvians will remember this date as one of the greatest joys in national football.
After qualifying for the playoffs in a tense final round of the South American Qualifiers, Peru had to face New Zealand, which seemed like an accessible rival. Although in the first leg we only managed a goalless draw in Wellington.
