Seven players from Universitario de Deportes were called up to the Peruvian National Team, both for the senior delegation and the U23 team. For that reason, the team will request the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) to reschedule the match against Sporting Cristal.
The club's official, Jean Ferrari, confirmed that they will present a document to the FPF on Monday, in order to evaluate and modify the date of the match against Sporting Cristal this weekend, for matchday 10 of the Clausura Tournament.
"We will send a document to the Federation tomorrow, to request the postponement of the match, since we have seven players on the National Team," Ferrari said, as he left the Miguel Grau stadium. He also stated that they have already had a first approach with Sporting Cristal regarding this issue.

"We believe that Liga 1 will also agree with us, but we cannot anticipate it. This is a process that, hopefully, for the sake of the spectacle, can be postponed, because there are 14 players going to the National Team, combined between Cristal and us," he added.
If this request is not approved, the club's official did not hesitate to confirm that, despite the absences, the team will be prepared to face any opponent. "Universitario will always be ready to face anyone," he concluded.
The match between Universitario de Deportes and Sporting Cristal is scheduled for Saturday, October 12th at 8:00 p.m. at the Monumental stadium. The guarantees for this match will be confirmed on Wednesday or Thursday of this week.
