gave Peru the fourth silver medal in the Pan American Games Lima 2019. The athlete finished second in the thrilling women's Stand Up Paddle surf final, held at the Punta Rocas Sports Complex.

The 23-year-old surfer achieved a score of 9.94 against the 10.73 of Colombian Isabella Gómez, on the last day of competition for this sport, which is making its debut in the Pan American Games.

Vania Torres

reached the most important stage of this competition after advancing through four phases of the main rounds, where she defeated surfers like Brazilian Nicole Pacelli, and American Candice Appleby, among others.

It is worth mentioning that, following Itzel Delgado's bronze medal in surf, also in Stand Up Paddle, the Peruvian delegation secured six more medals in this discipline. María Fernanda Reyes, Benoit Clemente, Tamil Martino, Lucca Mesinas and Daniella Rosas will also be on the podium.

So far, Peru has 4 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals in the Pan American Games.
