The coach of the German National Team, Joachim Low, admitted today that the current world champion left many spaces open and lost the ball in a way never seen before in their World Cup debut against Mexico, recognizing them as a strong and fast team.

"We haven't been accurate with the passes and we lost the ball in a way never seen before. We played with short passes, which made it easy for our opponent to take the ball away from us. We weren't focused," said Low in the press conference after the match where Mexico defeated the world champion 1-0.

The German coach emphasized that his team played "poorly in the first half", but recovered and did much better in the second half, where they had opportunities to equalize, although Mexico continued to threaten with dangerous counterattacks.

"We are disappointed, we lost the first match and that's unusual for us. We didn't play as we usually do, attacking with quick passes. We need to learn the lesson and do better in the next matches," he said.

Joachim Low praised Juan Carlos Osorio's team and criticized his own players for leaving spaces for a team that stands out precisely for its speed and counterattacks.

Mexico has been a strong team in the last two years. They have a good counterattack and transition very well from defense to attack. They have been demonstrating this for two years. They have very fast players and take advantage of spaces very well," defined the German coach regarding the opponent.

However, he stressed that Germany must "analyze what happened" because the result and the game, especially in the first half, "don't correspond to the image" of the team.

"But we have experience and we will recover. It's difficult to lose the first match, but we will surely win the second. We won't deviate from our path and we will exploit our strengths," said Low.

The coach added that he has no intention of changing their usual tactics, which have given them very good results for a long time.

"We will maintain our tactics and there's no reason to change them now. We still have two matches left in the group stage," he concluded. EFE
