Paolo Guerrero's Return to Professional Soccer
He feels that an injustice ran him over and took him away from what he does best: playing soccer. But now that he's back, he feels alive again. Paolo Guerrero played his first minutes with Flamengo, marking his return to professional soccer after serving the six-month FIFA ban imposed on him.
"Being away from the fields. Thank God, I played today. But I have confidence that everything will turn out well because I am innocent. I proved it at the hearing. Now I have to prepare myself because I want to keep playing. This is my passion and my life," said Paolo Guerrero.
More than 60 thousand people went to Maracaná to see Paolo Guerrero's return. The forward from the Peruvian National Team played more than 30 minutes in the victory against Internacional.
"I'm very excited, the crowd was huge. Maracaná was amazing. It's incredible to experience this after the six months I went through because of an injustice," added Paolo Guerrero.
On the other hand, Paolo Guerrero expressed confidence regarding the verdict that TAS will give in the coming days. During the last hearing, the Peruvian player remained firm with the theory of the "contaminated tea."
