Meeting at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)
The lawyers of Paolo Guerrero, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and FIFA meet at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The headquarters is located inside a small medieval castle in the city of Lausanne (Switzerland), where in 2009 another athlete's high-profile case was defined.
Previous case
At the headquarters where the defense of the captain of the Peruvian national team seeks the annulment of the 6-month sanction imposed by FIFA, a doping-related case has already been resolved. In 2009, French tennis player Richard Gasquet was pardoned after proving that he had been contaminated with cocaine by a woman he kissed in a nightclub in Miami.
Hopes for Paolo Guerrero
It is expected that Paolo Guerrero will also be able to prove his innocence at the same headquarters where Gasquet was absolved. The Peruvian forward has completed his suspension today after testing positive in the anti-doping test of the match between the Peruvian national team and Argentina at 'La Bombonera' in 2017.
