The Peruvian was included in the list of players who "promise to make an impact in the 2018 season of the North American league."

Andy Polo is part of the list of the new 'cracks' of South American football who now play in the MLS. This was assured by the Univision portal, which included the player from the Peruvian National Team along with other promises of Major League Soccer.

The arrival of Venezuelan coach Giovanni Savarese at the Portland Timbers makes it easier for the team to include more Latinos than in previous years, said Univision. Within this situation, the incorporation of the Peruvian forward and attacking midfielder stands out.

Gareca on Pizarro: "He has every possibility of going to the World Cup"

"At 23 years old, Andy Polo is already a veteran in international football. His career -which includes the Apertura Tournament of 2016 in Peru and the Copa Libertadores Sub-20 in 2011, both obtained with Universitario de Deportes- even took him to Inter Milan and Monarcas de Morelia, his last club before moving to the MLS," stated the media.

"Andy Polo sets foot in Portland with the intention of being a starter and earning a place in the national team of his country, which returns to a World Cup this year," added the portal.

Alongside Andy Polo, the media highlighted Ezequiel Barco (Argentinian/18 years/Atlanta United), Diego Rossi (Uruguayan/19 years/Los Angeles FC), Jesús Medina (Paraguay/20 years/New York City FC), Anthony Blondell (Venezuelan/23 years/Vancouver Whitecaps), and Josué Colmán (Paraguay/19 years/Orlando City).
