Nolberto Solano left Russia where he was watching Jefferson Farfán's work at Lokomotiv and traveled to the United States to talk to Alexander Callens, player of the New York City. Ricardo Gareca's assistant coach met with the defender, who has not been called up for the Peruvian National Team since March 2016.
The Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) posted an image on their social networks about the meeting where 'Ñol' collected Callens' experience in the MLS. He also witnessed the performance of the former Sport Boys player in the 2-2 draw of his team against Toronto in the MLS.
In addition, he took a photo with Patrick Vieira, Callens' coach, whom he faced several times when the Frenchman played for Arsenal and he played for Newcastle United. "With the great Patrick Vieira, tremendous midfielder. Thank you for your attention, friend," Solano posted on his Twitter account.
The numbers of Alexander Callens in New York City are worth noting because since he arrived in January of this year, he has played 20 games as a starter and scored two goals against Philadelphia Union and Minnesota United.
