Peru vs. Paraguay: Fútbol friendly to take place at the Monumental Stadium in Ate
Peru and Paraguay will play this Wednesday, November 16th, at the Monumental Stadium in Ate, with the objective of observing football players and preparing for the upcoming qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Although this process will start next year, the exact date is not yet officially known.
In recent months, it was mentioned that the date would not change compared to the last qualifiers and would start in March; however, the selection manager of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), Antonio García Pye, revealed in a recent interview that it would be postponed for a few months.
"The start of the qualifiers has not been officially confirmed yet. Apparently, it will be in June, but it is not confirmed 100%. If so, we would have more friendly matches," he declared to RPP.

Peru and a new venue in the qualifiers
In the same line, García Pye stated that the Monumental Stadium of UNSA in Arequipa would be one of the venues where the Peruvian national team would play as the home team. The friendly match against Bolivia will be a great gauge to evaluate how Juan Reynoso's team performs.
"There is a possibility for Arequipa to be one of the venues to play some matches of the qualifiers, so playing against Bolivia there was a good opportunity as a pilot plan," he explained.
