THE MATCH
Sol de América had a good first half in Villa Elisa. The team performed well in all lines, didn't allow their opponent to play, and struck at a crucial moment.
Goiás had more possession, but lacked clarity when attacking, while Sol de América tried to be direct whenever they had a chance to attack.
The score was opened at 31 minutes, when after a cross from the right side and a header that hit the post, Nildo Viera was alert for the rebound and pushed it into the net from close range, scoring the 1-0 for Sol de América.
Despite being behind, Goiás didn't change their style of play. They controlled the ball, but that was it. Sol de América relied on quick counterattacks.
The story didn't change in the second half. The Brazilians lacked strength in attack against a Paraguayan team that had some clear chances to counterattack.
Time passed, and towards the end, Goiás became a bit more daring, but it was too late.
The final whistle blew and the game ended with a 1-0 victory for Sol de América. A good result for them, as they won and didn't concede an away goal.
The rematch will be played on Tuesday, February 25 in Brazil at 21:30 hours.
