The 'Eagles' of America confirmed themselves as the leaders of Mexican soccer with a 4-3 home victory over the 'Warriors' of Santos on Saturday, in the continuation of the thirteenth matchday of the Apertura-2023 tournament.
Just in the 2nd minute, Argentine Juan Brunetta scored the 1-0 for the 'Warriors' through a free kick, from more than 30 meters away from the goal, that slipped away from goalkeeper Angel Malagon.
A minute later, Colombian Harold Preciado received a filtered pass into the area and defined the 2-2 for Santos with a lobbed touch over the goalkeeper's exit.
Before halftime, at 45+6, Quiñones made it 3-2 for America with a penalty kick that he placed in the lower left angle to overcome goalkeeper Carlos Acevedo's dive.
Santos achieved the 3-3 in the 52nd minute with a left-footed shot that Colombian Emerson Rodriguez connected from outside the area, placing the ball in the left corner.
Alejandro Zendejas gave America the victory with the 4-3 goal that he signed with a shot from the edge of the area with the instep of his left foot, sending the ball to the far post, in the 76th minute.
In this way, America reached 30 points and Santos remained with 14 units.
