America let a two-goal advantage slip and will have to host Chivas Femenil at the Azteca Stadium with a 4-2 deficit. The team's coach, Leonardo Cuellar, lamented that his players gave so much leeway to Chivas' offense to secure the victory.

"We have to give credit to Chivas for never giving up. They slowly came back, but the last three goals were our mistakes, not the rival's achievements, without taking away any merit," he said.

However, Cuellar recalled that as the home team, the Azulcremas are a strong unit, and he has no doubt about the capability of his team to turn the tie around.

"I believe it is very clear that we had the 3-0, we had the momentum, they made mistakes that we could have taken advantage of, but we didn't and we have a chance to redeem ourselves in a week, that is the good thing about it," he commented.

He dismissed the idea that the refereeing had an influence on the scoreline, this after the goalkeeper, Cecilia Santiago, strongly protested a foul against her on the third goal by Tania Morales that was generated from the corner flag.

"The referee was not a factor, I haven't seen the play, she complained about obstruction, but those are things that happen in the game," he concluded.
