Chile has been disappointed by FIFA's decision to exclude it from the organization of the 2030 World Cup, as stated by the president of the ANFP, Pablo Milad, who revealed that the whole country is sad about this fact.

Initially, the head of Chilean football stated that FIFA's council made this decision because they emphasized that there could not be four venues in South America, as three had already been chosen for various reasons.
"We feel very hurt by this situation, but they claimed that since there were three venues involving two continents, there could not be four in South America. It was a decision of FIFA's council. They told me that Montevideo was going for the 1930 World Cup, Argentina as the current champion, and Paraguay for the CONMEBOL headquarters. As there are 3 venues in Europe-Africa, they argued that there could not be 4 here," he explained.
Furthermore, Milad reiterated that this fact has hit the whole country hard, but he expressed that he does not want to think that they have been discriminated against by the maximum entity of international football. "We have to think that we were never discriminated against for being the host of the organization (the corporation that promoted the joint bid for the World Cup), there is no prior work to leave Chile out," he detailed.
"We have received calls from both FIFA and CONMEBOL regarding the country's situation and the concern of football. The situations that have arisen have been addressed. This is not about one person, it is also about a government because we are applying with a government. It is not a blow to me personally, but to a whole country," he added.

Milad revealed that FIFA's decision is questionable
Finally, Pablo Milad questioned FIFA's decision regarding the exclusion that Chile suffered, emphasizing that his position has been very questionable. "We will have a conversation with the president of FIFA where Infantino will have to explain to me and to Chile the reason for the decision. The exclusion criteria are questionable," he concluded.
