FC Barcelona is one step away from signing Matheus Fernandes
The FC Barcelona is one step away from closing the signing of Matheus Fernandes. That is, at least, the feeling that can be gleaned from an article that can be found today in several Brazilian media outlets (Globoesporte, Fox Sports or ESPN). In all of them, it is assured that the Catalan team is very advanced in the conversations that will allow the midfielder from Palmeiras to disembark at the Camp Nou.
To complete his signing, the blaugranas will invest around 11 million euros, of which seven will be paid directly and the remaining four depending on various variables. This amount far exceeds the 6 million euros offered by Barça in a first approach that was vehemently rejected by the Canarinho team.
Defensive midfielder who stands out for his ability to recover balls and participate with criteria in the creation of play, Fernandes has been pointed out by the culé scouts as a reliable alternative for Sergio Busquets, one of the players in the squad who still does not have a specific replacement.
Although they are players with a different profile, the newspaper Mundo Deportivo adds that perhaps the landing of this young talent (21 years old) could be decisive for the departure of Chilean Arturo Vidal. Of course, everything will depend on what the new coach of the club, Cantabrian Quique Setién, decides.
