On Monday, October 30th, the city of Paris became the epicenter of world football with the ceremony for the presentation of the 2023 Ballon d'Or, the most prestigious award in the sport, awarded by France Football magazine.
This time, Argentine footballer Lionel Messi, who currently defends the colors of Inter Miami, added an eighth award to his successful career, once again demonstrating his status as a world champion with Argentina.
The Argentine star competed against Erling Haaland of Manchester City, who finished in second place, and Kylian Mbappé of PSG in third place. Other nominees for the Ballon d'Or included stars such as Lautaro Martínez, Julián Álvarez, Kevin de Bruyne of Manchester City, Rodri of Manchester City, Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid, among others.
It is worth noting that the presentation of this coveted award was based on the votes of 180 journalists from around the world, who had the responsibility of choosing the best player in the world for this year 2023.
