'A beautiful match in which I feel that Peru and Chile will give us a great spectacle. I believe that Chile has been improving throughout this Copa America, especially because of the opponents. I believe that Chile comes well positioned to this semifinal. Chile has collectively improved a lot based on the individual performances shown, as a coach I hope to enhance the individuality as part of a collective,' said the strategist on Fox Sports.

As you may remember, Mario Salas became champion with Sporting Cristal in 2018, the 'Commander' completed a good campaign in Peruvian football with the Celestials and then was signed by Colo Colo of Chile.
The Peruvian national team held its first practice in Porto Alegre, the Beira Rio stadium of Internacional was chosen to prepare for the Copa America 2019 semifinal against the Chilean national team. The training was delayed for six hours as the Conmebol performed an anti-doping control on the entire blanquirrojo squad, as it did the day before with Argentina.
