18 days before the debut in the U17 World Cup in Indonesia, the Ecuador National Team concentrated on Sunday, October 22 in Quito. The 21 players, called up by Diego Martínez, arrived at the Casa de la Selección.
The national team will train until Wednesday. On Thursday 26, the delegation will depart for Saudi Arabia to begin an adaptation process to the time zone difference, as there is a 12-hour difference with Indonesia.
According to coach Martínez, the Minitri hopes to arrange friendly matches in that country and on November 4th, they will arrive in Indonesia to close their preparation for the World Cup.
Ecuador will debut on Friday, November 10th in the World Cup. That day they will face Indonesia at 07:00, Ecuadorian time.
Then, on Monday 13th, at 04:00 they will face Morocco; and on November 16th, they will play against Panama, starting at 07:00.
The Minitri won the silver medal in the U17 South American Championship held in Quito and Guayaquil. Kendry Páez, La Joya, is not part of the World Cup delegation, but the group highlights players such as forwards Keny Arroyo from Independiente del Valle, Michael Bermúdez from Liga de Quito, and Allen Obando, who has scored goals with Barcelona in the LigaPro.
