Authorities confirm suspension of classes in Guayaquil public schools

Officials from the Ministry of Health have confirmed that classes in public schools in Guayaquil will be suspended on Friday, October 28, 2022, due to the Copa Libertadores final. Jeremy Rubio, Deputy Secretary of Education for Zone 8, detailed this during a press conference. However, this measure does not apply in Duran or Samborondon.

The state entity explained that schools near the concentrations of fans of the tournament finalists, Flamengo and Atletico Paranaense, will be the ones without classes, in order to avoid risks with the students. According to the organization, the designated meeting points are Parque Samanes, Estadio Capwell, Malecon, Puerto Santa Ana, and the clubs' concentration hotels.

At the same time, it was announced during the press conference that Santiago de Guayaquil University, Casa Grande, and other private educational institutions near Estadio Monumental will have online classes.
