Feyenoord football player from the Netherlands received his second warning during the match in Santiago against Chile.

Just three days before the match between Peru and Argentina for matchday 4 of the World Cup 2026 Qualifiers, the national team announced the withdrawal of Feyenoord's player from the Netherlands, Marcos López, due to accumulation of yellow cards.

The left back had received a caution in the game against Brazil and most recently in the visit of the national team to Santiago, where the referee Wilmar Roldán did not hesitate to show the second card, preventing his presence in the match against the world champion in Qatar 2022.

POSSIBLE REPLACEMENTS

Prior to the double matchday, the coach of the national team, Juan Reynoso, presented a list of 30 called-up players, among which the names of Nilson Loyola (Sporting Cristal) or Luis Abram (Atlanta United) stand out.

Likewise, Oliver Sonne can be used on the same side where Marcos López plays, but with a changed profile, but all this will depend on the national team's strategist.

López is a versatile player who not only plays in defense, but also in attack, so on the bench there are the names of Bryan Reyna, Joao Grimaldo or Franco Zanelatto.

As you may remember, the Peruvian national team will return to the field of the National Stadium on Tuesday, October 17th at 9:00 p.m. to face the team led by Lionel Scaloni, who are undefeated and absolute leaders in the qualifying process.
