This Tuesday, WWE carried out a massive layoff of workers amid the coronavirus crisis, which has generated a great tension and sadness in the industry. Unfortunately, not even the Spanish content is spared and it was announced that commentator Jerry Soto was "temporarily dismissed" from the company.
The reports from media outlets like Pro Wrestling Sheet and Fightful were confirmed by Soto himself, who bid farewell to the WWE universe after 9 years of constant work:
"I have worked for WWE for 9 years. Today I have been temporarily dismissed, but people have been suffering everywhere for much longer. Let's help each other and work towards coming back stronger," mentioned the commentator.
Soto joined the roster in 2011, accompanying Carlos Cabrera and Marcelo Rodríguez after Hugo Savinovich left the Spanish commentary table.
As for Latino wrestlers, Epico, Primo Colon, and No Way José were also released.
