Excellent start. In a tight match that lasted more than 25 minutes, Charlotte Flair became the women's NXT champion by defeating Rhea Ripley on the second night of WrestleMania 36.
Thanks to her focus on Ripley's legs, Ric Flair's daughter managed to secure the victory with a brutal Figure 8 hold on Ripley's legs. Ripley never gave up and came close to defending her championship on multiple occasions.
With this victory, Flair becomes a three-time women's division champion in the yellow brand. After WrestleMania, she will return to NXT to strengthen the brand in its fight against AEW on Wednesday nights.
As a reminder, the show was recorded without an audience due to the coronavirus and will be broadcast over two consecutive nights.
