Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez will face each other again. Not in a UFC octagon, but in a WWE ring. The Mexican-American has signed a contract with the world's largest professional wrestling company and will go head-to-head with Lesnar at the end of the month.
"It is a pleasure to be here and join the WWE. Brock Lesnar messed with the wrong family and for that, he has to pay," said Velasquez during a press conference in Las Vegas, broadcasted by the WWE Network.
The fight between the two will take place at the Crown Jewel event, which will be held on Thursday, October 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Triple H, WWE's Chief Operating Officer, did not mention anything about whether the WWE title, currently held by Lesnar, will be at stake.
And how did this rivalry start? In last week's Raw, the 'Beast Incarnate' attacked Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik. As a result, Mysterio brought Velasquez to SmackDown to confront Lesnar, who managed to escape the stage after receiving a few hits.
The last time these fighters clashed was nine years ago, in 2010, at UFC 121. In that fight, Velasquez defeated Lesnar by technical knockout in the first round and won the heavyweight title.
