In the midst of negotiations that Brock Lesnar had with WWE to renew his contract, the role that UFC played was to try to sway the balance in favor of the Universal Champion

just as it happened the last time both parties met in a similar situation. At that time, Lesnar renewed his agreement with the promoter on the condition that he could fight in the octagon.

The contest in question took place at UFC 200, where the Beast Incarnate defeated Mark Hunt. However, a positive doping altered the result, leaving it as a "No Contest". Despite that, the leading Mixed Martial Arts company did not lose interest in Lesnar, and showed willingness to let the former Heavyweight Champion fight again.

Now, UFC President Dana White officially confirmed on the UFC on Fox show that Lesnar will return to the company. However, he clarified that he still does not know for certain when he will do so.

"Yes, Brock Lesnar will return, I don't know when, but he will"

Although his peak in UFC was a few years ago, Lesnar is still one of the most popular fighters in the sport. It wouldn't be surprising if the company tried to use him to boost young fighters (as they wanted to do with Jon Jones before his positive doping) and create new stars.
