Within a product dominated by heavyweights and increasingly marginalized in programming, the cruiserweight show has been on the air for over a year with the sword of Damocles hanging over its head. And just when Enzo Amore's revitalization seemed to improve his audience ratings, it turns out that the Cruiserweight Champion is the Harvey Weinstein of WWE.

The editor revealed that the idea of having this authority figure is not something new, and it was not a decision made after Amore's departure. In fact, there was already a name on the table that was considered the top choice.

Yes, the former Diva Summer Rae, who left the company in October, during the last round of releases that also left out Emma and Darren Young. And as reported by Meltzer, her consideration for the position came months earlier, so the future of the New Yorker could have been very different.

But the interesting part lies in the reasons why she was finally discarded, and that will surely delight the detractors of the cruiserweight style. Rae is almost six feet tall, and this, and nothing else, was the reason. As Meltzer explains, most of the wrestlers on 205 Live are shorter, and in the opinion of management, this fact made the plan impossible.

Since her debut in 2013, WWE always wanted Danielle Louise Moinet (Rae's real name) to have an extra-wrestling role, and 205 Live could have been the perfect place for her, after her failed (and brief) career as a wrestler. One could write that maybe now McMahon's product will take up the idea of having her as General Manager, but until further notice, her height seems to have not diminished.
