Georges St-Pierre's title defense remains uncertain due to colitis

Dana White confirmed that Georges St-Pierre is currently dealing with colitis, which will keep him out for a while. No updates regarding his first defense have been provided.

In a recent interview with BJ Penn Radio, Chael Sonnen predicts his teammate's next move.

"I think he will fight Robert Whittaker. Georges signed a contract to fight Michael Bisping, so I hope he sticks to his word. Whittaker has accepted the fight and Dana White said it will happen. I also believe that if there is a bigger fight for Georges, there will be a conversation about it, although it might be difficult. The rules state that when you have a healthy champion and interim champion, they have to fight each other. Plus, UFC doesn't like to do interim titles. We'll see what happens. Although if they could suddenly make Conor McGregor vs. Georges St-Pierre, we all have an open mind."

On the other hand, some of his colleagues still believe that GSP won't defend the title, including former champion Chris Weidman.

"No one really believes he will defend the title. Despite Dana White saying otherwise. There's no certainty about who will be the champion next year. I don't know who I'll take the title from, but I guarantee it won't be GSP. His next opponent will be either Tyron Woodley or Conor McGregor. GSP always finds a way to mock people."

Currently, GSP is not healthy enough to compete, but if he truly wants to defend the title, he could do it early next year.
