Capitana of the blue women's team in the last edition of Survivor Series, Becky Lynch was eliminated disappointingly from the beginning, and in the subsequent episode of SD Live, she barely had prominence, serving as a fall girl for the attack of the three new NXT promotions. Has the Irishwoman lost status within the program? It is undeniable that her relevance compared to a year ago has decreased, but while she recaptures the Women's Championship of her brand, WWE has extraluchistic plans for her.
Recently, several media outlets reported that there would be a sixth part of The Marine, that film whose first installment was starred by John Cena, and that degenerated like any action saga worth mentioning, with always having house protagonists: Ted DiBiase Jr. took over from Cena in the sequel, and The Miz has remained at the helm of the cast from the third part to the present day.
No, don't rush, unfortunately Lynch will not replace The Miz, but she will have a leading role in the film. Another great addition will be Shawn Michaels, who continues to make his way in the world of celluloid, with two previous productions under his belt (The Resurrection of Gavin Stone and Pure Country: Pure Heart).
The Marine 6: Close Quarters will be a production by WWE Studios and Sony Pictures, directed by James Nunn (who repeats after the previous installment) and with a production start date for the 27th of this month in London. Here is part of the official statement:
"WWE Studios and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) announced today that both studios will join forces again to release the upcoming action movie 'The Marine 6: Close Quarters', directed by James Nunn (The Marine 5: Battleground, Eliminators). The film will feature WWE Superstars The Miz and Becky Lynch and WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels. Production is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 27, in London."
When Jake Carter (The Miz) and his partner, marine Luke Trapper (Shawn Michaels), come across the kidnapping of a girl by a dangerous gang of international criminals, they are in the spotlight as they try to save the girl and bring justice to her kidnappers."
This represents Becky Lynch's first foray into cinema (if such a thing can be called that), and will entail an absence from the screens perhaps until the end of the year. The same situation applies to The Miz, who we already reported suffered a beating at the hands of The Shield. Specifically in the gladiator's case, the beating received would have been programmed to justify her film hiatus. If this extends until the beginning of the year, I hope to see her again in a women's Royal Rumble.
